DON'T FALL FOR THE 'US & THEM' WITHIN LGBTIQ or YOU WILL ALLOW THE 'DIVIDE & CONQUER' TACTICS TO WIN - Its been proven through time and demonstrated by great leaders (Ghandi, Martin Luther King, ect), that the most powerful and effective means to achieve social change and acceptance is via 'nonviolent resistance'. This means social change through symbolic protests, civil disobedience, economic or political noncooperation, or satyagraha (insistance of truth). This has been the main focus of the Queer movement since the 70's ............. One of the easiest ways to destroy a movement is to divide them via political parties, via race, via social economical status, via moral standards, or indeed anything that does not include the movement itself ..... by excluding people of a different political opinion, a different race, a different social status, a different moral code, or any other 'us vs them' dynamics you are playing into the hands of the people who want to divide and conquer the Queer movement (namely hetero-normative, bigots - who may or may not be left or right, who may or may not be religious, ect.). DON'T FALL FOR IT. Queer people live in all parts of society ... liberal, labor, poor, rich, tradies, professionals, ect. ect. Resist the instinct to blame one group for all the whoe's queer people have been through - and think 'nonviolent resistance'. Being QUEER and continuing to join our brothers and sister so that we can all have better Queer lives is what matters. DON'T FALL FOR THE DIVIDE AND CONQUER strategies of our opponents. Respect the uniqueness of everyone - no matter how confusing their position may be. ... See more
